Sewer & Drain Repair

High Pressure Water Jetting and Cleaning

At Mesa Plumbing we use the most effective method known to restore old drain lines to a like-new condition, high pressure water jetting. A line choked with years of accumulation of grease, soap and sludge can be restored to near original condition with the skill of your plumber. High pressure water jetting is an efficient, economical, and environmentally safe way to clean drain and sewer lines. Using state-of-the-art pumps and flexible hoses, water is propelled under varying amounts of high pressure into the sewer line. A special nozzle mounted on the end of a heavy-duty hose has an assortment of forward and reverse jets to direct powerful cleansing streams of water all the way to the pipe walls, cutting through even the toughest blockages. The water jetting system forces water through small openings located in nozzles. The combination of the high pressure and water volume provides a cleaning system unattainable by conventional methods. Unlike the conventional cable methods, our services are designed to help prevent future problems. While conventional machines are effective in opening a blockage, they do not clear the line of problems like grease, soap, and sludge. The power of the high pressure water jetting system and the skill of your technician can help avoid the expense and inconvenience of future blockages. High pressure water can emulsify your grease problems, and also eliminate blockages and roots, while high flow can work better in larger lines in removing sand, sludge and debris. Avoid the expense of ruined walls and flooring from backed up drain lines. Sewer cable machines are used to remove tree roots and break through solid obstructions. They are, however, less effective in removing softer blockages such as grease and other buildup. Sewer cable machines will bore holes through sludge but they don't clean and push the debris out of pipes the way high pressure water jetting does.

Inline Video Camera and Pipe Video Inspection

Pipe video inspection and video sewer inspection allow for a visual inspection of your underground sewer lines and other piping to help determine the condition inside the pipe using a video camera. A flexible rod with a specially designed, high-resolution video camera on its tip is inserted into the pipe for inspection. As the rod is pushed through the pipe, the waterproof camera records its progress and findings for the technician. Video images are transmitted to the camera operator and can be saved onto a videotape for a permanent record.

Pipeline video inspections and sewer video inspections may be used to identify damage and obstructions that limit proper flow or create occasional or repeated backups. The cameras can also verify that obstructions have been removed and that the lines are clean following service. The condition of a line typically cannot be determined without a visual inspection using an in-line camera. Video camera inspection help pinpoint such problems as:

  • Bellied pipe - a section of the pipe has sunk due to ground or soil conditions, creating a bulge that collects paper and waste.
  • Blockage - grease buildup or a foreign object is restricting or prohibiting proper flow and/or cleaning of the line.
  • Broken, cracked or collapsed pipe - damaged pipes requiring repair or replacement.
  • Corrosion - the pipe has deteriorated and/or broken, causing collapses in the line and restricting flow.
  • Leaking joints - the seals between pipes have broken, allowing water to escape into the area surrounding the pipe.
  • Offset pipe - sewer pipes that have become misaligned due to shifting soil, frozen ground, settling, etc.
  • Off-grade pipe — existing pipes are constructed of substandard material that may have deteriorated or corroded.
  • Roots in the pipe - tree or shrub roots have invaded the sewer line, preventing normal cleaning and/or have damaged the line.
